Staff was friendly and eager to please. However, there were no drawers/dresser in the room. No feather pillows as an option. I had to park my car myself (it was free, but still). Warm water in the shower took a while. Great location, good food, great coffee shop, good bar.

They were great! Once we went up to our room we realized they had put us in the wrong room. We went down to the desk to let them know and they explained that they had double booked our room. They instead upgraded us to their best room for free! I would definitely go back.

We were impressed by the hotel and especially the room. The street side of the hotel was noisy at night.

My room was fun, but a little practically challenging. There was no door between the bedroom and bathroom - which was fine since I was alone, but there is nobody that I want to be that intimate with. The only other challenge was that there was no comfortable place to sit. The bed was a mattress on the ground and the sofa - because I opted for a high-end room, was a sort of Louis XIV style and every time you tried to put your head back, you would nail it on a carved wooden rose or something. People were very nice.

The restaurant in the ACE Hotel Portland, Clyde Common, was excellent! The location of the hotel was perfect also - very close to the Pearl District, Powell's Bookstore, public transportation, etc.

I love love loved my stay here. Everything was spot on, the location was central to everything I wanted to experience. I was able to walk everywhere, hang out, and feel right at home in a creatively stimulating environment.

ace hotel was very cool. a step above the also hip jupiter hotel in portland. fab restaurant and coffee shop attached to hotel. cool place, will definitely continue to stay.
-
The artful vibe, European feel (shared bathrooms, etc) and sense of community.

I thought the Ace Hotel Portland delivered on the promise of all of the press that I had read. You get a little grit with you get-away but are well rewarded in a location that is on the edge of the polish that Portland has to offer downtown and the emerging Pearl District. As an added plus, I found the staff and all employees to be knowledgeable, courteous and extremely accommodating. All this and a location that is a block away from Powell's Bookstore.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Place was funky. Loved the wifi. Coffee shop and restaurant next door were both excellent. Will come back.

Proof positive that all design hotels dont have to aspire to some NYC/LA/London established standard. Uniquelt Northwestern. Also coffee in the attached Stumptown coffee shop some of the best anywhere.

Rooms were all Portland funk and style. Attentive staff. Hard to beat the location.
