“Matisse lived the last few decades of his life here in Cimiez, and today this old villa holds a collection of his drawings and paintings as well as some photographs of the master at work.”

“Henri Matisse spent a great part of his life painting and living and Nice and donated several of his pieces to this lovely museum. You probably won't see any of his more recognizable pieces but it's still most definitely worth a visit. It's also great reason to visit the delightful area of Cimiez.”

“The Musee Matisse is located in the town of Cimiez and you can get there either by walking or bus. The museum features many of Matisse's lesser known works as well as some pieces by other well known artists. It's a wonderful place to visit and spend an afternoon.”
