This is a full day 7:30am, (pick up and drop off at your hotel in Bologna), to 4:30pm semi-guided tour of only 6-8 people in an air conditioned minivan with a wonderful driver and featuring Alessandro an English/Italian speaking food expert as your guide. The tour has been created for "foodies", more so than "tourists" and takes you to the surrounding Modena for a visit and tasting of: Parmiagiano Reggiano cheese making, aged aceto balsmico tradizionale di modena, with a banquet lunch at a augro winery and ending with a tour of a parma-like ham factory with tasting. This seemed like too good to be true, but it was the best thing we did in Bologna. The food surpassed all other dining experiences, including an outing to Tuscany! I never do tours, but I HIGHLY recommend this early in your stay.
